There is tremendous happiness in making others happy

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.

One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window.

The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.

The men talked for hours on end.

They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.

Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake.

Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats.

Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.

One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.

Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days and weeks passed.

One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.

As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window.

The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.

Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.

He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.

It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window.

The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.

She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."

"Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled" "If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy" "Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present."

Class Party was pretty alright... provided the fact that we didnt prepare much for it...haha. The teachers who actually came into our class were very nice... Ms Tan (after steff sang her a song), Ms Tan GK (pity she left so early. She rox!), Mrs Koh (She stayed for the longest i think, haha. She promised she'd wear our class tee during our choral night performance! Heehee!), Mr Lim and Mr Shone (came and left after taking some food.. haha.. but nice of them to come in anyway...), Mrs Lim (drew herself on the board... haha. the hitler-look-alike. peeps... there's a newly added tag board here... ! tttttttttttaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggg!

Yep, I went to school, today, limping. Haha, but there's someone to accompany me - Eleen. Our class so 'accident prone', having 2 people who sprained their ankles almost at the same time....

Well, today's supposed to be founders' day and someone, think a parent came and made a long long speech. Thanks to my swollen leg, I got the priviledge to sit on the stairs behind the quadrangle, where the teachers were. CLL was very funny. Hahaha. Realised many teachers were in pink today.. or, redish, if you want, dunno why...

Think my leg's getting much better =)

Be careful of what you wish for... *sigh*

Result of keep wanting to skip elective = a sprained ankle.

Dotx. But it was quite nice of a teacher to help me to the lift... hmm.. more dotx. haha. (well, that person was Mrs. Chitra if you are wondering who was the kind soul). Ya, and thanks yt and ky to took all the trouble to take the ice, apply the ice, carry me to GO, and wheeled me in the wheelchair back to class. Haha. Many people wheeled me around during recess and going for PW. =P It was quite fun playing with the wheelchair though, turning it around myself using my hands... Hahaha. Oh, and my dad came to pick me up even he was working and 'carried' me on his back... it's so troublesome with an injured leg. Plus now i have to wait one more week before i can get over it with the debates presentation!

Still hafta do the history assignment... None of the people stated in the web quest was against Japan going to war! hmmm...
Hey's that's a bit unfair huh? hmmm...

See what comes to my mind tomorrow... i have until next week (self consolation) *fear not...fear not*
Why am i always telling myself the same thing? So that i won't be so stressed up?

=NY National Day celebration=
Today was really great... feeling all so hyper... as we sang the many different Singapore Songs (even just 'lala-ing' the melody when we forgot the lyrics), jumping up and down, yelling the names of the teachers, forming the human train, running around the gradrangle in the 'train', seeing the teachers sing on stage... SO GREAT!

I looked forward to every National Day Celebration, because this is the day where everyone in the school (and country - saw many people wearing red at orchard) gets all hyper and enthusiastic...

Saw many teachers coming with their kids...
- Mrs Ang, or Ms Grace Tan, with Ms Tan Poh Yee's daughter (Nathalie)...
- Mr Shone with his son (Max)... So cute!!!
- Mr Lim with his two daughters... (dunno wad are their names)..
- Ms Ng SL with her niece... v v v adorable! so cute! ah!
- Mrs V Chan with her daughter...

Hahaha.. really, i saw the Nanyang Family :P

=window shopping?=
Yep, went to orchard with yasi, zhang wei, liane and shuang after the celebration. Took some neoprints, really liked the second machine... haha.. didnt know taking neoprints can be so exciting...hahaha. Then we saw some really nice dresses.... Frankly, it's really a long time since i wore a dress. Anyway, Yasi, zhang and me went sorta mental and kept trying them out for fun but not intending to buy anything:p, leaving liane and shuang going crazy from waiting.. so sorrie..

changed a new template again... wish i could get rid of the advertisment...

Let's see... now's 12:40 am and i am wide awake even after a great long day in school. Well, i guess the open house was pretty successful (so fun being a tour guide! ha! - got to eat bread from the guides and cookies from the kitchen :P), but maybe not too many people came. *sob* yea, walked around the school 6 times (ouch!) repeating the same lines over and over again (ahem!) but still enjoyed it all the same...hahaha..

AEP demostration was very fantastic! So fun seeing the primary school kids printing OUR lino blocks (not to mention dirtying their clothes) hahaha. Then when we were packing up, Mrs Teo came in and praised us for our responsibility. Muahaha. *Free ice creams on Monday!* Suddenly all of us were so enthusiastic in cleaning up (?how come that nv happens to our classroom?) that we actually mopped the art room... muahaha..mr ellis better say we are good! Yanting even wanted to mop the whole school...crazy gal... not like we are the Cleaning Assosiation or something... haha...

*=clap

thanks Mrs Teo ** *** (X2)
remember our ice-creams =)** *** **** **

learnt that from our dear sec four AEP seniors btw. hahaha
